endless yoga fun in Guildford, Surrey & around the world

My role with YGB started back in 2008 when i took up the role as one of their ambassadors. In fact, i was YGB's first ambassador outside of America. I have consistently been supporting them, proudly watching them grow, ever inspired by Kayoko's passion & all the stories that she shares of YGB's recipients (you can watch this on their website)

This year I had the privilege of spearheading their first program to India to visit fund recipients and experience the impact of the work that YGB is doing, as well as experience why this work is so important. I do not have enough words to describe the impact I witnessed. Beyond individual lives, this work impacts the life of entire families, entire villages and is rippling out into the cities. It is not just about changing lives, it is about empowering women to change attitudes towards their role in their homes, their villages and their society. Change this here and the impact will be felt worldwide. This work is important because it affects us all.

I am also honoured to be recognised as ambassador of the year 2018

Yoga Gives Back (YGB) is a non profit organisation based in San Francisco. It was established in 2007 by it's founder Kayoko Mitsumatsu after a visit to India that touched her so deeply to take action. YGB is committed to supporting women and children through micro financing and scholarships programs. YGB's programs usually extends for a minimum of five years and each recipient's progress is monitored and accessed. Should recipients require further support, YGB is there to help them realise their potential. The focus on women and children stems from the belief that when mothers are empowered, they are more likely to keep their children (especially their daughters) in school, preventing them from being victims of child bride and child labour.

YGB works by mobilizing the global yoga community to support the cause through participating in at least one YGB fundraiser class hosted by the team of ambassadors and teacher supporters worldwide. If every yogi gave the cost of just one class a year, many lives can be affected. 100% of funds raised from these efforts go towards the cause. In it's 10th year running, YGB has grown in great strength whilst still maintaining a very personal connection with all recipients of their funds. They are currently supporting close to 900 recipients!

Please join YGB's One Million Yogis Project!

I am currently the Committee Ambassador for the UK.
